Our
Story
The Whau Pacific Peoples Plan was established to assist the Whau Local Board with improving inclusion and support for the Whau Pacific residents, it launched in June 2019.
On Wednesday October 10th 2019, the Pacific community met to support and endorse the establishment of the Whau Pasifika Komiti, to lead the implementation of the plan.
From this meeting 10 community members nominated themselves to represent local Pasifika, forming the inaugural Whau Pasifika Komiti 2019 - a voluntary Board with initial support from the Whau Local Board of $10,000.
Today, the Whau Pasifika Trust is a registered Charitable Trust that provides wide-ranging support to enable meaningful engagement amongst local whānau, schools, government agencies, organisations, business, and Pacific Peoples living and working in the Whau Local Board areas of Avondale, Blockhouse Bay, Kelston, Glenavon, Green Bay, New Lynn and New Windsor.
